Love Rugby Poetry Competition | June - September 2026
Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, in collaboration with Warwickshire Libraries, are excited to display the winners of the Love Rugby poetry competition this summer in the MOAT Gallery.
Featuring poems by local writers of all ages, this celebratory display highlights what they love about living in Rugby.
Poems were judged by a panel of representatives from Rugby Art Gallery and Museum and Warwickshire Libraries, as well as this year's Warwickshire Young Poet Laureatte, Naomi Mba.
Have you heard about Warwickshire's Young Poet Laureate Programme?
The Warwickshire Young Poet Laureate programme, run by Warwickshire Libraries and funded by Arts Council England, is a unique opportunity for young people aged 13 to 17, who live and are educated in Warwickshire, to showcase their creativity and passion for poetry.
Each year, Warwickshire Libraries invites aspiring poets to apply for this prestigious role, which combines writing, performance, and community engagement.

Why 'The Moat?
Up until 1924 Regent Place was part of Moat Street, so named because a moated manor house was here in the late 1130s. In fact, above the Oxfam shop is a plaque for Moat House. From the middle-ages to modern day, we are reclaiming the name for our new gallery.Exhibition remembering the New Cross Fire 1981
