Seeking feedback on tuition, practice rooms, recording facilities, live performance venues and the general scene, councillors are hoping to make recommendations to enhance Rugby’s cultural offer.

The council’s “task and finish” group was created to research the topic and make future recommendations, and the group’s Chair is hoping for a strong response.

Cllr Rob Barnett, Chair of the task and finish group, said: “We know that live music venues across the country are struggling, and as a musician I am eager to see what could be done to support venues and the wider music scene in Rugby.

“Whether it’s access to tuition, practice rooms and recording studios, or suitable places to perform, we want to hear what musicians value and what they feel could be improved.”

The survey is open for responses at www.rugby.gov.uk/consultations.

A separate facility audit will aim to identify relevant facilities in the borough.
