Bring the museum to your school

This inspiring CPD session for teachers from EYFS to Key Stage 5 with local arts educator Sue Ainley, will inform and engage educators on how to enrich the teaching of art and design with natural, sustainable, and locally-engaged art education practices. Exploring the possibilities of using natural materials for art education, this session will encourage you to think beyond buying or acquiring creative resources and the integrity and authenticity of creating with nature. Learn about a circular economy by making your own art materials and take part in a hands-on exporation of making your own mark-making tools and mediums. This approach nurtures resourcefulness and enhances students' creative connection to their local environment, providing valuable insight which will help students analyse and evaluate their creative processes, and foster critical thinking surrounding their use of materials.

Beyond our workshops we want you to see us as a resource to support your students’ education and enhance your school’s cultural capital. Over the years Rugby Art Gallery and Museum has worked with schools on many projects. Occasionally we look for local school groups who might be interested in partnering with us on a new project or trial.  We have judged competitions and talked at careers days. Please feel free to contact us to discuss how we can work together and support your projects.

Our open evenings and events provide an excellent networking opportunity and provide insight into our forthcoming exhibitions programme, workshops and events.  Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of our stores and speak to the team about how we can support your projects.
