Do you select the artists exhibiting in Floor One Gallery? No. Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is part of Rugby Council and Floor One Gallery was established as a space to be available to all artistic members of our community.
Why do you operate such a lottery system? A lottery system is the only way we can make Floor One Gallery available on an equal basis to all the artists that apply.
Do you see the artists' work before their exhibition? No, we do not curate the exhibition. However, you must not display any exhibits, artwork or notices of a political, sexual, racial, offensive, commercial or promotional nature .
I am an established artist and can't rely on luck to book gallery space.
Rugby Art Gallery and Museum supports artists based in the borough of Rugby by offering the opportunity to exhibit in our art gallery on the Second Floor. Exhibition proposals are accepted all year round and are taken to a selection panel of Rugby Borough Council Officers. Solo artist and group proposals are accepted.  Exhibitions are programmed at least 18 months in advance
If you would like to submit a proposal for an exhibition in the first instance please contact the Senior Exhibitions Officer to discuss your idea.
Then please send:
A proposal detailing the idea behind the exhibition, participants, number of artworks if known, potential audience, draft budget and fundraising ideas.
CV, artists' statement, images (jpeg on cd preferred) and any other supporting materials to: and mark for attention of Senior Exhibitions Officer  or by post to
